Back to school Potluck and Open House
Thank you to everyone who participated in our back to school potluck and open house last Friday! The food was plentiful and delicious, and visiting families were welcomed by our community. Thank you to Admissions Ambassadors Julie Zhou, Kevin Yao, Julian Vasquez-Silver and Avin Keith for serving as Tour Guides. We look forward to celebrating with all of you again!Progress Reports
The first progress reports of the year will be sent home with students this Wednesday, September 20th. If you do not have the opportunity to see your child’s report, please email Lina (lina@wissf.org) for an additional copy.

All-School Field Trip Thursday, September 21st
All students and full-time teachers will be visiting the MOMA this Thursday to see the Munch exhibit and view the museum’s permanent collection. All classes will be canceled for the day, and students should arrive to school by 9am. The day will end early at 2:00pm.

Indigenous People’s Day October 9th
School will be closed on Monday, October 9th in observance of Indigenous People’s Day. Classes will resume at 9:30am on Tuesday, October 10th.

Faculty Meeting Tuesday, October 10th
We will be holding our monthly faculty meeting on Tuesday, October 10th8:30am classes will be canceled, and all other classes will be held as usual. Students should arrive in time for their 9:30am classes.

Teachers’ Lunch Program
We are looking for volunteers to provide lunch for teachers on Thursdays throughout the semester. We ask that families bring food or money to feed 15 people, most of whom are vegetarian. Please contact Lina (lina@wissf.org) if you are interested in participating.

SFMOMA Field Trip Preparation

In preparation for the field trip this Thursday Advanced Art has been working on their own versions of Edvard Munch’s “The Scream”. We have been discussing the expressionist painting movement as well as Munch’s impact and continued relevance in art history.
